About Us
Wilson
& Stonaker, L.L.C. ("W&S") is a full
service commercial investment real estate firm. While W&S
does some tenant and owner representation work, the majority
of its focus is on the acquisition, development, and syndication
of value-added real estate transactions. This work is both
for its own account and the accounts of its investors and
third party brokerage engagements. William
E. Stonaker is the company's manager.
In the
late 1970s and early 1980s, William E. Stonaker ("Stonaker")
was active in the rejuvenation of Old East Dallas, especially
the "M" streets and the Swiss and Gaston Avenue
areas in the purchase and rehabilitation of historic single
and multi-family residential properties.
During
the mid-1980s, Stonaker became active in the Oak Lawn Design
District and the Stemmons Freeway Trinity Industrial
area in purchasing office warehouse and showroom properties.
Later, that was expanded to include properties in North Dallas.
During
the late 1980s and early 1990s, Stonaker was involved in the
disposition of several large office and office showroom properties
for the FDIC and other government contractors. It was at this
time that he also became interested in the value added approach
of purchasing properties which were prime for a use change,
re-tenanting, and development of land properties. Those properties
were sold.
In 1996,
Wilson & Stonaker, L.L.C. moved its offices to Tarrant
County to be better positioned to take advantage of the fast
growing Tarrant County and south Denton County markets. The company's first major investment in this
area was as a participant (with several of its investors)
in a thirteen acre tract of land in Keller, Texas.
The tract was sold to Minyard's Grocery Stores after a pad
site was sold to McDonald's.
Much of the time between the mid-1990’s and 2008 was spent doing vertical development in Tarrant County and elsewhere. One project worth noting is Landmark Lakes, a 36 acre retail project that is anchored by Lowe’s Home Improvement, Best Buy, 24 Hour Fitness, Buffalo Wild Wings, Logan’s Roadhouse and other retailers.
Across the street from Landmark Lakes is Landmark Quebec, a 206 acre mixed use project anchored by Starplex Cinema and a soon to be developed 47 acre hospital site owned by Texas Health Resources.
CURRENT
FOCUS
Currently we are focused on continuing our development projects and acquisition of distressed notes and improved property that can be repositioned to take advantage of the real estate recession that materialized in 2008. Plus we are working on several land projects that can be acquired at deep discounts.
